FAQ's

A Life Care community is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a Type A contract. This means that you will pay a one-time entrance fee before you move in to Skyline, which is 80% refundable to you or your estate. You will also pay an ongoing monthly service fee, which grants you access to all of Skyline’s amenities and services. The benefit of the Life Care, or Type A, model over other CCRC models is that it offers you the stability and comfort of knowing that you have a home for life with access to the care you need, when you need it, and at predictable rates you can depend on.

A Vibrant Oasis: No other city comes close to Seattle, and Skyline puts you at the center of an exhilarating retirement lifestyle. We are located in the First Hill neighborhood, a walker’s paradise where you have easy access to outdoor adventures in the mountains and by the water. From the top of the Space Needle to the culture of the Seattle Art Museum, from shopping the Northgate Mall to the tastes of Pike Place Market—when Skyline’s your home, it’s all yours.

Research moving companies thoroughly, seek recommendations from online reviews and from friends, and compare quotes from at least three different firms. Ask about their handling procedures, insurance, and check their licensing and credentials. How should I approach downsizing for a move to Skyline?

Start early and categorize your belongings into keep, sell, donate, and dispose. Consider the size of your new space, distribute sentimental items among loved ones, sell or donate unneeded items, and hire professional help if needed. Be patient with yourself—it’s a significant life change.

Family and friends may appreciate items of sentimental value. For the rest, use a search engine to research local charities or non-profit organizations that accept donations—many provide pick-up for larger items. Also, consider specialized organizations related to your items, such as books for libraries or clothing for homeless shelters. Always check an organization’s donation guidelines to be your items are suitable.
